We are raising money for the Lymphoma Association
13th September 2016
Dad was diagnosed with Lymphoma 11 years ago and after several rounds of treatments failed to work he was offered a relatively new (at the time) treatment as a last attempt to tackle the disease. Although it took him a long time to recover and left him with some permanent side effects, the stem cell transplant left him Lymphoma free and able to enjoy life again.
We were completely devastated to lose him earlier this year after a short but brave battle with oesophageal cancer. He leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives but we are so thankful for all of the wonderful, happy memories that we have to cherish and that he had the chance to meet the grandchildren that he loved so dearly.
Without the work that the Lymphoma Association carries out we may not have had those last precious 10 years and so my Uncle Paul (Dad’s brother who donated stem cells for the transplant), my husband Dave and I are running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for the Lymphoma Association to help give more people time with their loved ones.
